Rail: Nearest Railhead is at Kannur which is 65 km away from Paythalmala well connected by state buses and road.
Road: Pottenplave which is the base of the hill and can be reached through KSRTC buses from Kannur and Payannur. Also, a motorable road leads up to Paithalmala in two directions one leads through Pottenplave and the other takes you through Kudiyanmala to Paythalmala Valley
