Overview
Nestled in the tiny yet picturesque Kozhikode District is the charming seaside village of Beypore there is Beypore port. This village, which is encircled by ethereal blue hues and coated in vivid green, is situated at the mouth of the vivacious Chaliyar River. This town was known as Sultan Pattanam when Tipu Sultan, the monarch of Mysore, was in power.
Despite its tiny size, the town is well-known for its shipbuilding. This shipbuilding yard is well known for building the traditional Arabian trading vessel, the dhow, and the Urus. This craft, which has been practiced for more than 1500 years, is meticulously performed by skilled artisans.

Along with many other ships from his renowned fleet, the flagship of the British commander Lord Horatio Nelson, who defeated Napoleon Bonaparte in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, was really built in Beypore. Four Kovilakams from the Beypore branch of the Parappanad dynasty controlled Beypore, which has been a shipbuilding hub since the first century AD. How To Reach Beypore
Beypore is a small but well-known town that is conveniently accessible, about 11 kilometers from the bustling metropolis of Calicut. Feroke, the closest train station, is just 4 kilometers away. The Feroke Railway Station isn’t a particularly busy railhead, though. Just 9.2 km away, the Kozhikode Railway Station is the main railway station where many well-known trains stop. It takes only 26 minutes to get there by car.
Numerous buses run to the Beypore Bus Station and numerous more bus stations are scattered throughout the city. Buses are an economical and effective way to get to and from the city.
